A) Morning:  9am- 12 Noon:     River Street at the WAVING GIRL STATUE, near the GA Power/Electric Building. RIver St goes in one direction - go to the END - and look for GRASSY area with Waving Girl Statue.

B) AFTERNOON: 1-4 PM  Grayson / Sand Gnats Stadium in Daffin Park, located on Victory Drive,  Between Waters Avenue and the Truman Parkway.

NEWS FLASH:

Case Veterinary Hospital has become the Official Veterinary Medicine  Partner of the Savannah Dachshund Club & The Wiener Dawg Races.

The 2008 Case Veterinary Hospital Top Dog AWARD, will be presented by Ms. Carla Case McCorvey, DVM at the Awards Ceremony for the Wiener Dawg Races. 
The Great American Wiener Dawg Weekend !! The Savannah Dachshund Club has developed an FULL DAY  of Wiener Dawg & SMALL DOG Events - this fall for you to enjoy. Special Thanks to :

2008 SCHEDULE: 

Oct 4, Saturday Wiener Dawg Races 

 MORNING: ON RIVER STREET

9 AM: Racing Dogs Registration: River Street

10 : RACES START (But remember, all Racing dogs have to REGISTER before racing)

10-12 AM Wiener Dawg Races River Street !!

($20 Race fee per dachshund racing) Free to attend/watch

12 NOON:  Grand Prize Ceremony

AFTERNOON:
1 -5 PM: The SMALL DOG FESTIVAL at  Grayson Stadium

$5  Suggested donation per person at gate.

1:00 OPENING CEREMONIES:  Blessing of the Animals

1-5 PM:  SHOPPING BAZAAR -Grayson Stadium
Fun for all- with Dance Troupes, SIngers, Performers and Booths by vendors will be open all day - From  1 PM -5 PM  for shopping. (To Exhibit pet-related products/ services - exhibit tables  are $100) - Come out and buy presents for you and your beloved small dog !!

1-5 PM PET CHARITY DISPLAY & ADOPTIONS:
NOTE: Local & National Pet Charities are invited to take a display table ($10 special NONPROFIT fee to help cover costs)  to inform guests about their organizations.

 

1-5 PM  THE SMALL DOG WORLD CUP Races !!  SMALL DOG RACES
You’ve seen the Wieners race, now come out and see the PUGS, Chihuahuas, Papillons, Poodles, and all the other small breeds
3 PM:    SMALL DOG  COSTUME CONTEST / PARADE

4 PM   CLOSING CEREMONIES:  AWARDS PRESENTED

** NEWS FLASH ** The Fastest Dachshund in Savannah is

LONGFELLOW - the 3-legged wiener Dawg. At 1.40 time units - he bet the entire competition of 4-legged dawgs. Longfellow - had raced previously -and we are amazed & INSPIRED at the miracle of his running again and winning. Many thanks to everyone who donated prizes: From Georgia Lottery, The Waterfront Association, Alchemy, Ann Kelly paintings.

Come out meet dachshund folks for fun, romance, business and general good neighbourly times.
